Simulation of Petrophysical Parameters Using SGS Method in One of Southwest Iranian Hydrocarbon Reservoirs

Abstract

Modeling of petrophysical parameters such as water saturation and porosity are the most important elements of reservoir characterization play a significant role in determination of flow units. In this study, petrophysical parameters of Sarvak reservoir in the Azadegan oil field are modeled using SGS method. In SGS method, cells or blocks with certain petrophysical values were selected and modeled in the Sarvak reservoir. Implementing cutoff values for water saturation and porosity, potential reservoir units of each zone were delineated and simulated. The model indicates high reservoir quality of zone 3 within the Sarvak formation in the Azadegan field.
