Abstract

The present study attempts to remove SO2 from flue gas in an industrial scale dynamic scrubber. Experiments were carried out in an actual industrial plant. The effect of contaminated air and absorber flow rates were investigated on the removal efficiency. Despite low liquid to gas ratio, the outlet concentration of pollutants indicates a good performance of the scrubber in a short residence time (about 2 seconds). The best removal efficiency of SO2 was 83.5%, with Na2HPO4 solution as the absorbent.
