Particle Transfer Through A Porous Medium

Abstract

In order to enhance the oil recovery and meet the environmental regulations; the produced water is usually  re-injected into reservoirs. However, existence of solid particles and oil droplets (which are present in the produced water) may decrease permeability values. In this paper, the transfer of suspensions (fluids containing solid particles) through a porous medium and also particle deposition mechanisms were studied. The most common mathematical model was explained. Also the effect of different parameters on damage were investigated.
